Harmonicas are compared to other small musical instruments, compact, lightweight, sturdy and usually very cheap. The chromatic harmonica allows playing of all half-tones of Western music styles. This is enabled by a built-in slide. The diatonic harmonica is tuned to the so-called "Richter tuning". The pitch changes, are not chromatic (no halftones). The tremolo harmonica has two reeds per note, with a somewhat higher and the other is a little more deeply intonated. Only in this way, the unique sound of this almost lilting harmonica is possible.
